Privacy policy
Effective August 2026. Plain language, because that is how we run everything else.
What we collect
When you book or inquire, we collect the information needed to host you: your name, contact details, party size, stay dates, and, for Capitol Hill parking registration, your vehicle details. Payment card information is collected and processed by Stripe through our booking system, OwnerRez; card numbers never touch this website or our records.
How we use it
Guest information is used to manage your reservation, communicate with you about your stay, register guest vehicles where applicable, meet our obligations under District of Columbia short-term rental regulations, and, unless you opt out, send occasional messages about returning to stay with us. We do not sell guest information to anyone.
Who processes it
We use a small set of service providers to operate: OwnerRez (reservations), Stripe (payments), Truvi (guest screening and damage protection), and standard website analytics. Each processes only what it needs for its function.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep. Email shortstayindc@gmail.com and we will handle it directly.
